A barrier island with a mix of guests
St. Pete Beach occupies all of Long Key, a barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico, so everyone who books here is either a full-time resident or a visitor on a trip. Housing is a mix of condos, beach homes and a large number of vacation rentals. That mix is why this page reads differently from the others. We might see a local who surfs and bikes, a family on a week-long rental, or a couple celebrating something at a resort.
We take the same approach for each. You tell us where you are staying, we set up a table in a quiet room about the size of the table, and we plan the session around what your body needs after the beach, the golf course or the flight.
Pass-a-Grille and Corey Avenue
The Pass-a-Grille Historic District sits at the southern end of the island, and Corey Avenue is the downtown district with bars, restaurants and shops. Pass-a-Grille is also noted for kiteboarding, which is hard on the shoulders, forearms and core. Corey Avenue and the beach strip mean plenty of walking, and many visitors report sore feet, calves and lower backs by the second day.
The Don CeSar opened in 1928 at the southern end of the beach and is a member of Historic Hotels of America. We do not work with any specific hotel, and every property sets its own rules about outside therapists. If you are staying at a resort, ask the front desk whether they allow it. If they do, we can come to your room.
Crossing the bridges
Three bridges connect St. Pete Beach to Treasure Island, South Pasadena and the Bayway Isles area of St. Petersburg. The Bayway Isles link is one of the ways we reach the island from the city. On busy beach days, give yourself a bit of extra room in the schedule and tell us if your check-in or checkout leaves a narrow window. If you are staying on the island, there is no need to drive anywhere after the session, which is part of why many guests book for the evening.
Condos, beach houses and rentals
Condo buildings often have elevators, a front desk and a limited number of guest parking spots, so ask the manager how visitors should arrive. Beach houses usually have more floor space, but sand tracked through the door is common, so a mat or a towel at the entrance helps. In a rental, find out whether the owner permits service providers on the property and which bedroom has the most room. We bring clean linens and everything else.
Sessions that fit a beach week
- Sports massage helps after a long bike ride, a run on the sand or a round of volleyball.
- Swedish massage is a lighter, full-body choice for a first session or an easy day after too much sun and walking.
- Deep tissue massage works on the neck and shoulders after a long drive or flight.
- Sports massage and stretching loosens hips and legs after hours on foot.
If you are sunburned, tell us and we will adjust. Skin that is raw is something to protect, not work on. If you have any medical concerns, check with your doctor or physical therapist before your trip.
